Country Club Reserve Study

RDA provides reserve planning to country clubs across the country.

Do You Need a Country Club Reserve Study?

A reserve study is an integral tool for successful country club management. Country clubs must maintain a diverse range of facilities and amenities. After all, it’s these very facilities that club members pay the privilege to use.

While country clubs rely on annual member dues to cover maintenance costs, there are some costs that need larger funding. Country clubs must eventually replace or repair the components of common facilities, and a reserve fund can prepare these clubs for these expenditures.

A country club reserve analysis or study helps clubs determine the level of funding they need at any point in time. It includes an assessment of the club’s components and current funding balance, which are then used for country club capital planning. A reserve study basically tells you how much money you should have in your reserves and how much you must set aside each year to meet the correct funding level.

Without a reserve study, a country club would be operating without guidance. There would be no way of determining whether its reserves are adequately funded. Faced with a major expense, the club would then need to levy special assessments or take out a loan.
